At the 39th Philippine Columbian Association (PCA) Open Tennis Championships, which were held on the PCA indoor shell court in Plaza Dilao, Paco, Manila, on Monday, the top seed Marian Capadocia defeated Chloe Mercado in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-0, to keep her lead in the women’s single competition.
The event was part of the 39th Philippine Columbian Association (PCA) Open Tennis Championships. Capadocia is competing in this year’s competition with the goal of defending the championship she earned the previous year.
Elbert Anasta of the Philippine Army won the men’s singles match against Diego Dayrit in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-2, to advance to the third round of the competition.

Other winners in the women’s singles competition included the second seed Janeila Rose Prulla, who defeated Elizabeth Abarquez in straight sets (6-0, 6-3); the third seed Althea Faye Ong, who defeated qualifier Jana Diaz in straight sets (6-2, 6-3); the seventh seed Alexa Joy Milliam, who defeated Sydney Enriquez in straight sets (6-4, 6-4); Miles Vitaliano, who defeated Eliana Misa in straight sets (6-0, 6-2); Joan.
